The Southampton Tennis Club started as two asphalt courts in 1956, and has grown to include 15 hard-courts across three locations.
The Beach Courts
On Lake Street you’ll find our main clubhouse over-looking five courts. This location is the hub for all STC activity including membership purchases, all junior lessons and evening adult lesson, the weekend drop-in bench, and most of the Cups Day matches as well as the trophy presentations.
The Warder Courts
Named in honour of our lead founder, Fawcett Warder, the Warder courts location offers another clubhouse and eight more hard-courts. This is the location for permanent bookings, the weekday drop-in bench, junior tournaments and the day-time adult lessons.
The Uptown Courts & Practise Wall
Located only two blocks from the main street and retail district of Southampton, the Uptown courts are the original two courts of the STC and are equipped with lights for evening events like round robins and the all-night tennis-athon.
At the Uptown courts we also have a two-sided practise wall for members who want to improve their skills. The practise wall was part of the club’s original facilities back in 1956, very unique for its time, and continues in popularity today especially among our junior members.
Racquet Borrowing & Tennis Balls
If you don’t have your own racquet, we have some available for use by members and guests, including sizes for young children. You can borrow one from our inventory at the Beach clubhouse. And if you also need tennis balls, they’re available for purchase at both clubhouses.
